Pat the Possum

Pat the Possum is an educational Childrens Show performed by the Graham Scobie Band for pre-school and primary aged children. In an entertaining way it provides information on counting, recycling, the habits of possums and frill-necked lizards. It also helps children to learn about the delicate balance between all components of the environment.

Pat the Possum runs for 40 minutes and includes 8 original songs such as The Spikeling Recycling Song, Rainbow Girl and Stomp, Knock, Click, Clap as well as abundant audience participation in the form of practical recycling, dancing and question and answer sessions.

In addition, all the costumes for the characters Rainbow Girl, Phil the Frillin’ Frill-Necked Lizard and Pat the Possum are hand-made from recycled materials. All musical backing is provided live by the members of the band and there is also an opportunity during the performance for the audience to join the percussion section of the band.

The Pat the Possum Show has been written by band member Michelle Scobie who is a qualified teacher. It was performed at the 2009 Gympie Muster in Queensland and can be booked by contacting Scobie Entertainment.
